Inspection Engineer (UKAS RG2 Cat 2 or Cat 3) Permanent or Contract Locations:- bull; Humberside bull; Cambridge bull; Hertfordshire Job Summary In-service inspection of pressurised equipment, tanks and piping systems to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Responsible for provision of inspection services to clients in the above regions. Job Description bull; Drafting and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE). bull; Identifying plant preparation requirements from the WSE. bull; Examination of equipment in accordance with the WSE. bull; Undertake NDT ndash; ultrasonic thickness checks, and magnetic particle dye penetrant flaw detection. bull; Coordination of third-party NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist techniques. bull; Preparation of clear written reports supported by photographs. bull; Assessment of deterioration. bull; Reviewing design calculations and grading defects. bull; Coordinating repairs. bull; Participation in Risk Based Inspection studies. Education bull; HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). bull; Incorporated Engineer status (desirable). Experience Skills middot; Mechanical Engineering background. middot; Understanding of engineering principals. middot; Excellent written and verbal communication. middot; Eye for detail. middot; Ability to accurately follow procedures. middot; Courage to make (and defend) difficult decisions. middot; Good interpersonal skills, and the capability to work independently. middot; Ambition to learn and progress. middot; Understanding of fabrication processes and NDT is desirable. middot; Experience of chemical and/or oil gas industry is desirable.
