Test development engineer

Due to exciting growth, new opportunities are open to experienced test development / validation engineers to join a very successful and expanding electric vehicle technology company in Leamington Spa. The company is involved with the design and development of vehicle transmission and driveline systems for a range of applications ndash; automotive, aerospace, rail, marine, renewable energy etc Fun Stuff: Test Development Engineer: * Definition, development, planning and implementation of tests for a range of vehicle transmissions, electric motors and driveline systems based on customer requirements * The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP, 8D, and FMEAs * In turn this may involve supporting the build and commissioning of test systems and analysis of test data * Working closely with test technicians who will execute the tests * Driving product development SOPs in line with product quality standards The ideal candidate would be a degree qualified test development engineer that has gained direct experience of the test / development of vehicle transmissions, electric motors or complex electromechanical systems within the automotive, rail/rolling stock, marine or aerospace industry. Skills / Knowledge- Test Development Engineer * Ideally a degree or similar in a relevant subject (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, etc) * Experience of the definition, development, planning and implementation of tests for vehicle transmissions, electric motors / complex electromechanical systems, engines, powertrain, turbines etc * The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP, 8D, and FMEAs * Able to support the build and commissioning of test systems and analysis of test data (e.g., motor controller / inverter etc) * Experience of failure resolution / problem solving using 8D processes or similar * Experience with originating Quality and SOP documents for Test Procedures, DVP, 8D, and FMEA * Able to work effectively in a fast paced, small company environment in conjunction with test technicians * Good organisational, planning and communication skills * Previous experience within an EV test environment would be preferred This test development engineer opening is commutable from Oxford, Banbury, Warwick, Northampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Worcester and Leicester.
