Barclay Meade Finance Accountancy are recruiting for a Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Account and working closely with the Finance Business Partners, The Corporate Accountant will feed into the production of the monthly management accounts by cost centre. The key function of this role is to support in the leadership of the finance function, covering the full breadth scope that the finance function is responsible for. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Take the lead on accruing all operational and overhead costs ensuring they are accurate, in line with month end timetable. Working in partnership with the AR Supervisor to accurately account for group income in line with month end timetable #39;s ensuring that accrued income, provision #39;s and sub-contractor costs are accurately presented with underlying workings to support and balance sheet reconciliations completed in a timely and accurate manner. Produce revenue proof in totals for each contract to support achieving a clean audit report. Responsible for executing monthly intercompany processes including liaising with group, raising and issuing intercompany invoices, reviewing and reporting intercompany balances and managing intercompany debtors/creditors. Support the production of the quarterly VAT returns for the UK group, undertaking the reconciliation and calculations, gaining approvals and submitting to HMRC in line with deadlines and ensuring payments are received by HMRC in a timely manner. Support the annual external audit by producing information as required and ensuring you have full documented evidence for your postings and balance sheets are up to date. Prepare balance sheet control reconciliations and analysis to demonstrate strong internal controls, produced by WD10. Contribute to the development and improvement of key finance processes to ensure the accuracy of the group accounts and accounting treatments are correctly applied and in line with statutory requirements. Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure information is accurate on which to base accounting adjustments. Support the Financial Accountant with the development and training of the Assistant Accountant. Any other ad hoc duties as required to support the delivery of business objectives. PERSON SPECIFICATION Part Qualified accountant, either ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation Highly analytical and detail-oriented, possessing strong commercial acumen and business sense.
