The role: Sheet Metal Worker Are you a Sheet Metal Worker that has worked in high precision manufacturing and looking for a new challenge? A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a prestige aerospace business based in Sheffield. Perform drilling operations. Perform manual press operations. Abrade and final finish assemblies. Use hand and air powered tools. Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards). Interpret drawings. Work meticulously to work instructions and procedures. Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance requirements. Provide feedback on production issues as and when they arise. Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures. Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures. Other duties as assigned, requested or needed. Skills Experience: bull;NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline is desirable. Environmental awareness, Manual handling, Abrasive wheel training, calibration control, LOTO (Lock out / Tag Out) Risk Assessments, SOP Development, RCA, Basic CI (Continuous Improvement) principles. Experience: Sheet Metal Work experience ndash; Essential. Manual Press work experience ndash; Essential. Reading and following written instruction e.g., SOPs, Technique sheets, drawings, and specifications ndash; Essential. Experience of working to production targets ndash; Essential. Experience in the Aerospace or similar industry ndash; Preferable. Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) ndash; Essential. Quality conscious and be able to work accurately in a busy environment ndash; Essential.
