Practice nurse

Working with a busy GP surgery in Oxford, Dream Medical urgently require a part time Locum Practice Nurse to start ASAP Duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by a Practice treatment room nurse, and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training. Job Responsibilities bull; Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as required. Such tasks may include: bull; Chronic disease reviews including; COPD and Diabetes bull; Asthma reviews bull; Cytology screening bull; Childhood and adult vaccinations. Administering vaccines under patient group directions. bull; Wound care including compression bandaging bull; Removal of sutures bull; Contraception advice bull; Doppler studies and interpretation bull; Prescribed injections ndash; including Zoladex implants bull; Urinalysis bull; ECGs bull; Venepuncture bull; Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs bull; Assisting GPs and contraceptive nurse with minor surgery and coil fittings bull; Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician bull; NHS health promotion programmes: holistic assessment and lifestyle advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise. Facilitating behaviour change. Current Experience working as a Practice Nurse along with current NMC registration is essential.
