Spray painter

Job Purpose: To perfect plant bodywork, repairing damage, chips, scratches and general wear and tear. Main Responsibilities: * Prepare the painting equipment * Prepare the bodywork of the machine by filling, sanding and smoothing surfaces * Apply take and cover areas that are not being sprayed * Mix paints to the correct colour and consistency * Apply the appropriate number of coats to the machine to include primer, colour and protective finish * Clean and maintain the spraying equipment * Store paints in the correct conditions * Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times and that all H S procedures are adhered to. Essential Skills and Experiences: * Experience of the spraying of heavy plant equipment * Attention to detail * Concentration and co-ordination * Understanding of the hazards of working with acids and harsh chemicals
