Multi skilled engineer

Job Summary Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team at Agrial Fresh Produce in Wigan. The primary accountability is to provide safe and highly reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of hands-on competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance and strong communication skills. Working hours: 2 day, 2 nights, 4 on 4 off. 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00. About Us Agrial Fresh Produce is one of three UK food manufacturing factories who are owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets and it #39;s not just about lettuce! As well as the 3 factories we also have a farming operation ndash; Agrial Fresh Farms. All UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial #39;s vegetable division. The business is more recognisable in the UK by its Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK rsquo;s leading producers in the industry. We have a recipe for success through our EPIC values and working together as one team. Our Wigan site is a well-established business unit that processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to some of the UK #39;s well-known retailers and restaurants. We are based on Martland Park Industrial Estate, which is ideal for travel on the M61, M6 and M62. Main Responsibilities * Execute hands-on planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working always. * Ensure assets are ready to produce products that are of an excellent quality, dispatched on time in full to customers. * Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake ndash; properly risk assessed. * Coach, train and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance. * Act with integrity always to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement. Skills and Experience Required * Technical hands-on Engineering experience, preferably through recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing. * Technical qualifications and competence in BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification. * Broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pnuematics, Electrical PLC/Inverter Assets. * Skills and capability to logically diagnose and fault find on a variety of equipment/situations. * Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working regulations. * Strong evidence of good interpersonal, communications and customer engagement skills.
