Legal cashier

We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier for a permanent opportunity with a well-regarded firm based in Whitechapel, London This is an exciting opportunity has arisen for a legal cashier with, at least, 18 months experience looking for the next step in their career to assist the Finance Manager in all aspects of the firm rsquo;s accountancy requirements. Key Responsibilities Daily * Preparation of daily payments and processing via Bacs * Maintaining and controlling of the office and client bank accounts. * Dealing with firm rsquo;s bankers in relation to Bacs Chaps transfers of Clients rsquo; funds * Maintaining and controlling of purchase ledger system and the accounts payable inbox. * Dealing with daily queries raised by suppliers. * Provide holiday and sickness cover in agreeing the daily bank reconciliations for the office bank accounts. Weekly * Preparation of payments prior to receipts from the Legal Aid Agency. * Processing of staff expenses. * Dealing with any accounting functions, which may arise due to sickness or holiday of another member of staff. Skills/Knowledge Requirements * Good numeracy and knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures. * Good teamwork and ability to prioritise * Ability to learn, use and understand accounting computer and software. * Knowledge of Solicitors rsquo; Accounts Rules. * An understanding of and an ability to carry out procedures as set out in the Accounting Manual. * Good communication skills.
