Role Summary Senior Project Manager ndash; Substation Automation will perform all design, program, install, test, commissioning and management activities related to substation automation projects for a DNO, reporting to CoE Head. He/she will be responsible to carry out site surveys, need analysis, design, manage and deliver the related project outputs. He/she will develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. He/she will work with internal teams at the DNO, and with vendors as needed, to arrive at commercial options and document them. He/she shall interact with the end customers of the DNO for approval / reviewing of the design drawings and specifications along with investment plans periodically. Key Responsibilities #x25CF; Define project scope, goals and results that support the strategic business goals and requirements in collaboration with account sales executives, senior management and stakeholders. #x25CF; Carrying out site surveys, development of related single-line diagrams, development of automation flow charts. #x25CF; Prepare the technical design of the substation automation plan, RTU panels and engineering documentation such as P IDs, process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures. #x25CF; Prepare the risk management plan especially for substations and take the necessary mitigation actions #x25CF; Responsible for implementation of substation automation, protection and control systems, SCADA, Telecommunications and managing the support interfaces with telecoms and other suppliers. #x25CF; Providing technical guidance and support to project engineering teams and supervise on site when necessary. #x25CF; Responsible for the overall execution and quality of substation and infrastructure projects as a leader within a team environment. #x25CF; Responsible for factory and site acceptance tests from design to approval phase. #x25CF; Working knowledge of regulatory and HSE requirements and how they relate to site works, business systems and practices #x25CF; Deliberation of the technical design, drawings, detailed specification etc. with the customers for acceptance or to understand any deviations to match the local needs. #x25CF; Preparation of proposal documents consisting of site survey, technical and functional design, feasibility, commercial reports Desired Experience #x25CF; 15+ years of management experience with specific focus in a utilities environment with multiple years of experience managing team managers particularly in a geographically dispersed and matrixed managed organisation #x25CF; Bachelors rsquo; degree in electrical engineer or power systems engineer or related #x25CF; Holding a project management certificate PMP, PRINCE2 or relevant #x25CF; Network switching experience on distribution network. Authorisation certificate for network switching (upto 33kV) from a power DNO is nice to have. #x25CF; Good theoretical and practical understanding of electrical protection, control and telecommunication systems as applied to distribution networks. #x25CF; Experience working as a relevant system engineer/manager for a DNO in EHC/HV/LV network #x25CF; Having a particular knowledge on the areas below: o SCADA o RTU and Communication Systems o Network Protection #x25CF; Having a particular knowledge on at least one of the design tools below: o Autocad o EPLAN #x25CF; Familiarity with creating project management plan, using project management tools
