Senior Controls Engineer * PLC Programming from scratch and Modifications * Special Purpose Machinery * Worcestershire, UK * GBP45.000 - GBP55.000 We are working with an established forward-thinking technology company specialising in the fields of automated electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical production test systems, in Automotive, Rail and Food Beverage, amongst others based in Worcestershire, UK. They are recruiting for a Senior Controls Engineer to join their team. In return for a salary in the region GBP45.000 - GBP55.000 along with excellent employment benefits. They need an enthusiastic, self-motivated and capable Controls Engineer with significant experience in the design and commissioning of turnkey automated systems. Key Responsibilities include: * Extracting interpreting customer requirements * Contributing to system-level design specifications * Contributing to external internal design reviews * Design, program and build of electrical control systems * All aspects of PLC software development * Leading system integration, test and validation * Documentation for system operation maintenance Requirements: * At least 5 to 10 years significant experience in the design of controls for bespoke, automated systems. * Willingness to integrate with house software style. * Expert knowledge of component parts including motors, drives, encoders etc from major suppliers. * Working familiarity with at least one major PLC, preferably Siemens and TIA portal. * Experience of using networking solutions such as Profinet. * Working familiarity with E-PLAN. * Ability to interpret customer specifications evaluate customer products designs. * Ability to produce robust, innovative and re-usable solutions. * Familiarity with Machinery safety directive, PUWER, CE/UKCA, SISTEMA and relevant safety legislation associated with special purpose machinery. * Ability to take a leading role as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. * A focus on meeting project deadlines budgets. * An ability to contribute to multiple concurrent jobs. * Good written and oral communication skills. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
