About the Position The machine operator role is part of the production team and will work on machines allocated by the shift supervisor. The operator will run the machines, following the planned production schedule, on a shift rotation. Full training will be given by an established company. Our client is looking for someone who has worked with manufacturing/factory machinery. A long career history is preferable. This role is suitable for the right candidate looking for a solid, long-term, committed career in manufacturing. Key Initiatives bull; Adhere to Selig rsquo;s core values. bull; Follow a 3-rotation shift pattern: - Early (05:45 ndash; 14:15) - Middle (13:45 ndash; 22:15) - Late (21:45 ndash; 06:15) OR - depending on the business need: bull; Rotating a 2-rotation shift pattern - Monday to Wednesday, 18.00 ndash; 06.00 - Monday to Thursday, 06.00 ndash; 18.00 bull; Complete company-provided safety training. bull; Complete company-provided quality training. bull; Complete a 3-month training course in our Switzerland-based company bull; Successfully roll out training back in Slough UK site. Position Responsibilities bull; Operating all machinery in an efficient and safe manner bull; Running and maintaining the production of extrusion and coating lamination, including printing, ensuring all safety and quality procedures are followed whilst remaining on track with the production plan. bull; Professional set-up, operation, and monitoring of the laminating machine for the production of multi-layer composites. bull; Maintenance, and cleaning of the laminating machine bull; Slitting material produced from the laminators and extrusion machines into tapes as per the customer #39;s requirement, following strict quality procedures. bull; Operate all production lines, after appropriate training. bull; Support and help in the cross-training of other team members. bull; Covering holiday and sick bull; Control and optimization of production processes. bull; Independent monitoring of ongoing production bull; Preparation of all materials for laminating application and control. bull; Adherence to time and quality requirements bull; Process the material through the ERP Styeline system bull; Ensuring that all company-driven SOPs and instructions are followed. bull; Making sure all codes used in Syteline are accurate and correct. Essential Skills and Characteristics bull; Safety Driven, conscientious, self-motivated, and confident. bull; Understanding of Quality Systems would be an advantage. bull; Must have basic numeric and literacy skills to ensure accurate recording of data using set paperwork bull; Moving and managing material using electric pump trucks, forklifts bull; Ability to handle heavy equipment. bull; Be able to read, understand, and follow production plans and Standard Operating Procedures. bull; Focus driven to hit production targets. bull; Keep the area clean and tidy. bull; Basic computer knowledge. bull; Ability to work independently and as part of a team bull; Ability to multitask. bull; Must be able to work overtime. bull; Must be able to speak, write, and read English
