Electrical design engineer

Role: Electrical Design Engineer Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP65,000 Location: Middlesbrough Morson Group have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing and friendly team, based initially in Middlesbrough. We are seeking an innovative Design Engineer with experience in client-side HV projects to lead infrastructure and energy projects on our customer networks up to and including 132kV. We are looking for an individual who can work within a Design Team alongside Engineers who will mentor and develop suppliers, procurements, commercial contracts, costing, work on various projects, visiting construction sites, working on design and estimates. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all aspects of design from outline to detail during the project life including design, planning, approval, construction, commissioning, and final handover Developing customer projects into detailed design packs to be delivered in accordance with current conditions policies and standards Act as Lead Designer for Infrastructure and Energy Projects Skills and experience HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineer (or equivalent) with a bias towards Power Engineering Desirable Good understanding of Low Voltage High Voltage Electrical Principles and theory Distribution network design including some knowledge of volt drop calculations, earth loop impedance calculations and protection would be advantageous Have some knowledge of electrical engineering design and practices (e.g. ETAP, Dig silent SafeGrid Trimble Power) Experience in plant specification P C, AISs/GISs and 33/66/132Kv substation layouts Demonstrate an understanding of Construction Design Management regulations relating to Electrical infrastructure projects Gave a particular interest in developing a career in Design Construction of High Voltage Private Networks Grid Support Generation technologies incl. Battery Energy Storage Systems, Gas Peaking Grid Scale Solar Projects Implementing Fuel Cell technologies into the Private Distribution networks Large Private Wire Distribution network development and management If you believe you have the skills, experience, and passion for this role then please apply!
