The staff are committed to ensuring children identified as having additional needs have access to a broad and challenging curriculum. Self-regulation and emotional development are a high priority for this school. The staff are extremely supportive and committed to continued professional development. The Role You will be supporting an individual pupil to develop positive self-regulation skills and improve their engagement with the curriculum. You will also be leading one-to-one activities with this pupil, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo. The pupil has a plan in place with established targets on it. You will be working towards these targets as well as reflecting on the progress made and creating new targets. Main Responsibilities Support individual pupil to develop positive self-regulation skills Use pre-determined strategies to manage challenging behaviour Deliver planned interventions Ensure pupil safety and welfare is maintained at all times Feedback to class teacher and SENDCo Liaise with parents about progress/areas for development Essential Criteria Remain calm in challenging situations Build trusting relationships Good listening skills Ability to adapt and use own initiative Patience and resilience Desirable Criteria Team Teach training/experience Education/Teaching Assistant qualification Prior experience working in a school or nursery
