Candidate required: Senior Quantity Surveyor ndash; Main Contracting Job Type: Permanent Start date: Immediate Industry: Construction professionals South Location: Southampton Salary package dependant on experience:GBP70,000 - GBP80,000 per annum plus benefits The role about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS (Construction Professionals South) are searching for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a renowned and highly regarded Main Contractor who deliver projects up to GBP40M across the South Coast. Due to sustained and continuous growth as well as an order book stretching well past 2024 they are looking to add to their commercial team. As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be working as part of a dedicated commercial team delivering high value projects across the South Coast. Your day to day will include: Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement. Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages. Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value. Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports) Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role: Quantity Surveying related Degree/HNC or higher qualification. Experience working on large construction projects of high value in a main contractor environment Excellent contractual awareness Ability to oversee and develop junior staff Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form. Produce accurate commercial reports. Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office. Good time management Ability to make decisions within authority. Able to read, understand and measure from Working Drawings.
