Design project engineer

Job Title: Project Design Engineer Location: Gateshead, Newcastle Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP42,000 The Company: We are working with an established, leading heavy engineering automotive manufacture who are looking to recruit a new Project Design Engineer. You will manage projects, liaise with toolmakers, customers and other engineers to ensure that work is delivered in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner as well as using your engineering skills to create new and improve current manufacturing processes, jigs and fixtures using 3D CAD. Job Description: * To develop new product processes. * To create and manage timing plans and support required for assigned projects. * To create process flows and PFMEA rsquo;s and review at stages through the NPI process. * To set up standard operating procedures and manage process documentation. * To set up and correct bill of materials. * Support 8D investigations. * To set and run tool trials. * To set and run assembly trials. * To design and oversee the manufacture of jigs and fixtures using multiple CAD software products. * Support 8D investigations. * Manufacture of prototype parts. * Engineering change control creation. Skills Experience: * Proficiency using 3D CAD ndash; Solidworks. * Minimum HNC qualified Engineer (Time Served will be considered). * Tooling background - basic understanding of processes such as turning, fitting, weld fixtures etc. * Design and project experience
