Quantity surveyor

My client is a market leader in multidisciplinary, specialist and innovative solutions across the marine, water, environmental infrastructure and energy sectors. They are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They have a healthy pipeline of work until 2027 and can offer excellent career progression opportunities. As a quantity surveyor, you will be reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor and you will be pivotal in providing commercial support on a major rail infrastructure project in Hertfordshire. Roles responsibilties of the Quantity Surveyor: * Efficient management of all commercial functions of the packages of work you are responsible for. * Provide commercial support to the Project Director, Commercial Director, Managing Quantity Surveyor and the Commercial Team in managing the delivery of the project. * Negotiating terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers that apportion risk to those best placed to manage that risk. * Ensuring subcontractors and suppliers are managed, within the terms and conditions of subcontractors. * Reviewing, approving and ensuring payment of interim and final accounts (including final account sign-off). * Reviewing and agreeing costs to complete / forecasts. * Liaising and co-ordinating with production, engineering, design and procurement teams * Ensuring compliance with the commercial requirements of the conditions of contract and Works Information. * Coordination of the contract insurance requirements, management of claims and renewals. * Notification of early warnings, compensation events and submission of quotations in compliance with the conditions of contract. * Preparing, submitting and agreeing early warnings and compensation events. * Reviewing and advising on newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return. * Identification and implementation of mitigation measures. * Effectively managing a commercial team to ensure delivery of the above items along with personal development and support or the team. * Providing support and training for site staff on commercial issues. About you You rsquo;ll have demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor with experience of working within civil engineering. A team player and influencer, you rsquo;ll have strong stakeholder engagement coupled with an ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet stringent deadlines. You rsquo;ll also have strong knowledge of NEC suite of contracts
