Mechanical maintenance engineer

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Job Type: Full-time, Permanent - DAYS ONLY, MONDAY - FRIDAY Location: Gillingham Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP38,000 - 37 HOURS PER WEEK We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients established engineering team within the automotive manufacturing and R D sector. The role involves providing both reactive and preventative maintenance support, ensuring the smooth operation of their facility. Day to Day of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer: Conduct fault finding, rectification, modification, and development of machinery as necessary. Liaise with internal and external suppliers for service engineers, spares, and other requirements. Plan and organise maintenance activities considering the impact of machine downtime. Maintain an up-to-date record of trackside spares and required parts, raising purchasing requests as needed. Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure seamless operations. Utilise the CMMS system for maintenance handovers and asset traceability. Respond to breakdowns for machine tools, assembly, and test machines efficiently. Required Skills Qualifications of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proven engineering background with experience in machine tools and processes. Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding. Ability to read engineering and schematic drawings. Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to work collaboratively.
