Reasons why you should join us: middot; This role is available due to an internal promotion, so the previous Laboratory Manager will remain in the business for you to bounce ideas off middot; We love career development, as well as being able to demonstrate multiple internal promotions, we can offer you a variety of different career paths in the future JOB DESCRIPTION: Laboratory Manager, Chemist - Chemicals, HPLC, GC Reporting to our Technical Director, you #39;ll lead a team of two Laboratory Chemists / Laboratory Technicians, you #39;ll get to remain hands on, working on a variety of chemical testing across a variety of industry sectors whilst running our Laboratory. Because we are a chemical manufacturing site, your team will be working a weekly rotating shift pattern of double days 6-2, 2-10 Monday-Friday to help us cope with our manufacturing demands. Whilst your role is office hours as a standard, we might need you to be flexible in certain circumstances. As our Laboratory Manager, your main responsibilities will be to: middot; Lead, mentor and develop your Laboratory team middot; Monitor product quality against product specification with production middot; Sample all raw materials and finished formulations according to our sampling protocols, test them as required, and quarantine or release them using our bespoke ERP system middot; Ensure that all samples are analysed in accordance with client specifications, procedures, and test methods including HPLC and GC middot; Fill in the appropriate documentation and ensure your records are complete middot; Ensure that your analysis is carried out accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner and that cross-contamination control is maintained middot; Maintain all necessary records and archive your batch samples middot; Internal auditing PERSON SPECIFICATION: Laboratory Manager, Chemist - Chemicals, HPLC, GC middot; You will have previously held a relevant supervisory / team leadership / managerial role middot; You will have practical experience of working in a similar manufacturing or formulation environment (Quality Control, test laboratory etc) We are open on industry sectors i.e., food, pharmaceutical, hygiene, medical, cosmetics, automotive, aerospace, veterinary, pet care, farming, industrial, cleaning products. middot; You will be competent with various instrumental laboratory test techniques (GC, HPLC, viscometers, density meters) middot; You will be degree qualified or qualified by experience in a chemistry or suitable scientific related subject middot; It would be advantageous if you understand ISO:9001 and auditing THE COMPANY: We are a contract chemical manufacturing facility based in Peterborough servicing a variety of sectors like Medical and Hygiene, Farming, Veterinary, Pet Care, Automotive, Home and Garden, and Industrial.
