JOB DESCRIPTION Proposed Job Title: SMU Avionic Technician Supervisor (7) Dept No/Name: C7201 ndash; Typhoon SMU Reports to (Job Title): SMU Avionic Senior Supervisor CMS Job Code: ( For current CMS Positions Only) Section A JOB PURPOSE bull; To perform, within the scope of their delegated authority, the Avionic mandatory and independent inspection requirements of the schedule maintenance schedule for Typhoon aircraft. bull; Carry out mandatory or independent inspections, within the scope of their delegated authority, on any modification embodiment, unscheduled work, STOs or TI rsquo;s on Typhoon aircraft or equipment. bull; Maintain Random inspections, within the scope of their delegated authority, for operators with zero or partial delegation. bull; Protect and assure aircraft airworthiness by maintaining the quality of on aircraft activities and documentation. bull; Deputise for the Senior Supervisor when requested. Section B RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential bull; Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering trade apprenticeship. bull; Typhoon aircraft Maintenance Q course. bull; Qualified to NVQ/C G Level 3 in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent. bull; Have at least 7 years post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR 3 years on same aircraft type bull; Two years rsquo; experience within a Quality Assurance/Control organisation. bull; Experience of working within a Typhoon aircraft maintenance organisation. bull; Ability to interpret technical publications and complex engineering drawings. bull; Skilled in the use of the MS Suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, power point) bull; Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills. Desirable bull; Experience in using IMS/ESS/WDMS. bull; Experience is using Trilogiview. bull; Conversant with RSAF Engineering paperwork processes. bull; Successful completion of fibre optic repair course. bull; Previous experience of working with an electronic quality management tool. bull; Awareness of M CA legislation. bull; Knowledge of: BAE Systems certification and qualification procedures ndash; RSAF maintenance procedures and practices ndash; SMU contractual obligations. Section C JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: bull; Maintain the technical quality and airworthiness of Typhoon aircraft by assuring individual inspection standards meet the requirement of the RSAF/DA approved technical publications, M CA Mandates and the SMU QMS. bull; Perform the daily inspections required to meet and maintain the programmed schedule of maintenance. bull; Assist with work environment checks, housekeeping checks, cleanliness checks and FOD control. bull; Take on supervision duties as the need arises. bull; Monitor the quality of tasks being inspected/certified and report to the Senior Supervisor any concerns regarding operator skill sets. bull; Within the scope of their delegated authority certify any first and second stage inspections bull; Conduct or assist with the investigation of any issues from: Workarounds, Incident, Quality Engineering, Loose Articles and observation reports, deficiency investigations. bull; Where necessary, discuss, in depth, with the customer the report contents and advise on any technical issues that may arise. bull; Ensure that any personal training needs are identified and highlighted to the Aircraft Team Leader and the Quality Manager. bull; Assist the QA department with investigations arising from Customer enquiries and complaints. Section D WORK DIRECTION bull; Primary direction is given by the Aircraft Team Leader and secondly by the Avionics Senior supervisor. Performance is reviewed by the Aircraft Team Leader. Section E DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY bull; As defined by the Avionic Senior supervisor. Section F PLANNING/ORGANISING bull; Not applicable Section G SUBORDINATES bull; Avionic Operators. Section H REPORT PREPARATION bull; Compilation of technical and engineering reports as required. bull; Verbal reports to the Customer and senior managers.
