Cover Supervisor - London Looking for an exciting new opportunity in education? Here at Destination Education, we currently have flexible Cover Supervisor roles available in many Secondary schools around the Romford area! Duties and Responsibilities: To work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom, including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. Cover supervisor responsibilities include: Covering lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher Ensuring students remain on task with the work they have been set by an absent teacher Supervising the delivery of the cover work by effectively communicating the work set to students Ensuring that the required resources needed in order to effectively deliver the covered lessons are available Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking set work to ensure a positive learning environment Collecting completed work after lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacherCover supervisor requirements: Highly adaptable, can cover a variety of subjects Confident, organised, and at times, diplomatic Patient, flexible, creative, with a good sense of humour Experience working with secondary aged children Ability to build good relationships with children, teachers, parents, and carers Knowledge of the national curriculum for KS3 and KS4Cover supervisor roles offer a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain teaching and classroom experience before completing a PGCE.
