Assistant graduate quantity surveyor

Success Recruit are currently working with a Project Management Consultancy based in Central Essex, currently looking to recruit an Assistant/Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their friendly and ambitious team. Our client is looking for someone with passion for the construction industry, and who is keen to learn work on their own personal development through continuous studies. Previous QS experience is not essential as full training will be provided but a head for figures is essential. If you enjoy working with numbers, haver an analytical mindset or may have started your career within accounting and now want to consider a change of career path this opportunity could be for you! The successful Assistant/Graduate Quantity Surveyor will be expected to: * Have achieved a finance / construction-related degree or working towards one * Demonstrate excellent communication skills * Be able to take responsibility for own actions and work well in a team * Hold a driving license as travel will be required The successful Assistant/Graduate Quantity Surveyor will be rewarded with: * A chance to be part of an established but growing team with long term career progression * Support to progress to Degree/ MRICS, including study leave. * The chance to gain fantastic exposure throughout all RIBA stages, with early design involvement through to handover upon project completion. * Excellent benefit package parking on site Job Specification Purpose of the role: The purpose of the Assistant/Graduate Quantity Surveyor will be to assist with all aspects of Quantity Surveying, gaining hands-on experience with qualified professionals. This is a brilliant opportunity for a graduate to apply their theory-based skills to the real world on live construction projects. Job Specifics: * Assisting with estimating and cost planning ndash; including carrying out take offs and measuring tasks * Assisting with tender document preparation and reporting * Assisting with contract administrator and cost control * Attending site and assisting with interim valuations and final accounts * Assisting with cost reporting / procurement reports Our client is looking for someone with passion, drive, and the ambition to build a successful career within a dynamic, growing Project Management Consultancy.
