Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant Location: Cranborne, Dorset Hourly rate: GBP14.00 ndash; GBP15.28 per hour Annual salary: GBP25,015.20 - GBP27,302.30 (FTE GBP29,120.00 - GBP31,782.40) Contract: Permanent, 40 hours a week, Term Time Only We are currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant join an independent specialist provision supporting children aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support the young people with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Where necessary this may include positive behaviour management adopting a tailored approach to the individual child. Key duties: * Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school rsquo;s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT * Under the guidance of a teacher, implement learning activities and experiences, appropriate to the class group, by supporting the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning * Establish a positive relationship with pupils in order to support them in feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn. * Work with the children and support their learning, providing further explanation where needed, and work towards * Under the guidance of the Teacher, help collate evidence and information that supports pupils rsquo; attainment and progress. * Participate in the evaluation of learning activities. * Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress. * Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting pupils rsquo; progress according to the school rsquo;s policies in order to monitor and foster pupils rsquo; progress in all areas of learning.
