Tax senior

Hello, My client is looking for a Tax Senior position based in Durham due to expansion. This role can be based within the Middlesbrough, Darlington, or Durham office, and you will work as part of an established tax team, with a range of knowledge and experience. You will be involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the wealthiest and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region. You will have access to a variety of software packages and library resources to ensure that you are able to provide the best possible client service. A typical day in the life of a Tax Senior: * Prepare of more complex income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, Iris and Tax shield * Review work of and aid development of Taxation Associates and Senior Associates * Research tax planning issues * Support tax partners, directors and managers in more complex cases around residency, R D, and capital gains tax * Undertake remuneration planning and liaise with the client as appropriate * Undertake basic planning work, liaising with the client as appropriate with support from tax partners and directors * Undertake initial reviews of draft tax computations produced by audit and accounts colleagues * Action queries raised by tax colleagues on the draft tax returns and computations * Clear review points and actioning queries raised by colleagues * Act as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries * Provide training, guidance, and support to team members as required * Actively participate in department meetings * Undertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledge * Make suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm rsquo;s systems and processes * The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the role What are we looking for: * Fully ATT-qualified or part CTA qualified. * Relevant tax experience. * Experience of using tax preparation software. * Be willing to continue to pursue a career in tax. * Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone, and by email. * Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel. * The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail. * The ability to judge differing situations and respond accordingly. * Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems. * Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
