Job title: Registered Mental Health Nurse Location: Woodleigh Community Hospital, 28 Elmwood Road, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 2SG Rate Of Pay: GBP18 per hour Shift Patterns: Ad hoc, bank shifts Information about the Role: Working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse at Woodleigh Community Hospital your main duties will be to: * Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, and long term service users. * Behave in a professional and discreet manner at all times and in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code. * Be competent and confident in managing people with long term health conditions. * Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for service users with complex needs. * Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for service users (as appropriate). * Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist service users in complex, * urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. * Recognise and work within own competence level * Produce accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of service user interaction and consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures. * Support, manage and guide support workers on a daily basis. * Continual personal development to develop oneself and the role. Necessary Experience or Qualifications: * Hold a valid NMC Pin. * Experience working with people with mental health problems / learning disabilities. * Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour. * Working within a multidisciplinary team environment. * Experience of providing individualized and culturally sensitive care. * Ability to work on shift/rota pattern. * Have the right to the work in the UK. * Someone who has a real passion for caring and helping people. Information about the Service: Woodleigh Community is a 23-bed open, community-based hospital providing rehabilitation services for males and female with mental health needs, many of whom have additional ongoing physical needs. As an open community hospital, residents at Woodleigh Community are encouraged to use local community services and we support residents detained under the Mental Health Act to use their Section 17 leave in a structured and meaningful way.
