Head of section ndash; early years health wellbeing

The School of Commercial Industries and Access at Kingston College currently includes students on 16-18 study programmes and T Levels, adult programmes including access and part time adult programmes as well as a substantial HE provision. The focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills. We rsquo;re now seeking a Head of Section ndash; the section has a diverse curriculum area with programmes including Early Years and Health and Wellbeing programmes (including Access to HE and Degree programmes). The teaching commitment is in the field of Early Years and/or Adult Health provision. As our Head of Section, you will be responsible for the leadership, management, and monitoring of programmes within the Section and the teams delivering these programmes, ensuring that the success rates and value-added performance improves towards outstanding. You will be responsible for the recruitment, conduct and progress of all students on all programmes within this Section and ensure that all the Sections programmes meet the needs, standards, and requirements of all partners, including, awarding bodies, employers, and higher education institutions. This role would suit someone who holds a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who has excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher on Early Years/Adult Health programmes (including Access to HE). With high personal standards and expectations, you will have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area and have a track record of making sustained improvements. We rsquo;d like you to have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting lsquo;at-risk rsquo; learners to achieve or exceed their potential, and have experience of managing, supporting, and developing staff. You will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes, and how these can be used to enhance the student experience.
