As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will work at the heart of the local communities across Hampshire and Isle of Wight, providing a visible and accessible presence. About the Role: You will be a key part in crime prevention and community support by building partnerships with residents, schools and other groups. Other duties may include; * Tackling anti-social behaviour and drug related crime * Attending community events * Build strong relationships with communities * Help keep communities safe at a local level * Patrol neighbourhoods and be a contact for your local community * Provide support and reassurance to victims * Help with missing person enquiries * Detaining a person until an officer arrives * Play a vital role in helping to improve relations between the police and local communities Salary and Benefits: You starting full time salary will be GBP24,921 to GBP27,351 per annum (Scale 4), together with additional weekend enhancement payments and shift allowance of potentially around GBP4800 per annum (depending on your shift pattern), which payable after the initial is training period. This takes the salary, once progressed to the top of the pay scale, to a maximum gross salary of GBP32,151 in total. About you PCSOs are required to evidence Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE at C and above or equivalent).
