Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within Special Needs Schools within Plymouth starting immediately. You will guide and support assigned pupils in achieving their personalised learning targets Following any EHCPs that are in place for individual pupils Approaching situations in a patient yet caring manner The ability to build positive relationships with the pupils is required About the school This school is for Secondary aged children with SEN, such as ASC and ADHD This school seeks to provide an appropriate and high-quality education for all the children in their school A warm and inclusive environment, they provide bespoke, child-centred, high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all the students individual educational needs are met There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period Requirements To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will: Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years. Have experience of hoisting/moving and handling in a care or school setting Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: recent experience obtained within the last 2 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting.
