Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain rsquo;s new high speed railway.. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It rsquo;s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we rsquo;re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you rsquo;d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Methods Engineer within the Design team. This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project rsquo;s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction ndash; a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers. To deliver high quality and safe work methods within the HS2 project following the Temporary Works requirements defined by BBV and especially: bull; To define the site installations provisions related to each working site. bull; To define the related work sequences related to the delivery of each part of assets. bull; To define the lifting plans related to any lifting operation including the design of the lifting equipment. bull; To share the temporary works concept required with the Temporary Works teams. bull; To participate to the elaboration of the technical parts of the Scope of Works with the construction teams, with respect to the consultation of equipment supplier or manufacturer. bull; To supervise, review and validate the elaboration of drawings related to the aforementioned. The following qualities/experience are essential: bull; At least 5 years of experience as a method engineer on Civil Engineering major construction projects. bull; Excellent skills in Autocad. bull; Skills in designing formwork, scaffold and falseworks. bull; Knowledge of lifting equipment (mobile crane, crawler crane, lifting gears, tower crane). bull; Ability to develop construction sequence. bull; Design of steel and concrete structure. bull; Good skills in hydraulics equipment such as single and double acting jacks, hollow core jacks, hydraulic power packs. bull; Coordination and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment. bull; Ability to follow the rules. bull; Excellent skills in composite viaducts, concrete precast Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
