Credit controller

CMA is delighted to be partnering with a global manufacturing business in their UK office in Newbury, Berkshire. With an annual turnover of GBP(phone number removed) and realising their product into some of the biggest household names, they are looking for an experienced accounts professional to predominantly manage their credit control process whilst having a solid knowledge of AP/AR and VAT duties. What will the Credit Controller role involve? Take ownership of process. Supervise all setting up of new customer and supplier (including credit check application) within the business guideline. Maintaining Aged Debts. Liaising with Customer Services team leader to make sure all billing complete. SAP processing invoices/credits. Credit control remittance allocation, account reconciliation. Empower team members to be accountable for their contribution through supportive development. Asssist with difficult/unplanned issues and encourage the team to learn new skills through exposure to different requirements. Assistance with year-end procedures and audit, including preparation of reconciliation schedules. Compiling any audit evidence required and assisting with any other ad-hoc audit requests. Support the colleagues and management function during periods of absence / holidays. Complete VAT returns for both Ireland and UK, under FM guidance. Other ad-hoc duties to support the wider Finance Team. Monthly/Quarterly/Year end requirements including Accrual Prepayments. Suitable Candidate for the Credit Controller vacancy: Accuracy and quality. Confident dealing with customers. Problem-solving skills. Friendly outgoing personality with good sense of humour. Maintains good relationships with colleagues, team player, calm under pressure. Pro-active continuous personal development relevant to the role. Well-organised but flexible in the light of changing priorities, understands and meets deadlines. Good level IT skills, MS Office, Excel experience. Multi financial systems skills and knowledge but not essential. Will work extended hours if necessary e.g. complete or resolve time critical issues, month, etc. Additional benefits and information for the role of Credit Controller: GBP28,000 - GBP30,000 + study support.
