Assistant accountant

CMA is delighted to be partnering with an award winning, fast paced company based in Portsmouth, for the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant and join their friendly team on a permanent basis. Working closely alongside the Management Accountant and Financial Controller, you will be an important addition to the team, where you will assist with month end procedures and take ownership of the purchase ledger function. What will the Assistant Accountant role involve? Assist with preparation of the monthly management accounts including accruals and prepayments. Prepare weekly KPI reports for review from the Senior Management Team. Process high volume, mixed value purchase ledger invoices. Preparing BACS run and making UK and overseas payments. Dealing with supplier queries. Performing statement reconciliations. Ad hoc duties as required by the Financial Controller / Management Accountant. Additional benefits and information for the role of Assistant Accountant: 37/5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am -5pm, 30 mins lunch. Hybrid working following full training (3 days office, 2 days WFH). 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising each year. Free on site parking. Company pension. Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy: Possess good month end exposure and transactional / ledger experience. Fully IT literate including intermediate excel (pivots, look ups etc).
