Position: Experienced Estimator Location: Milton Keynes Responsibilities: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements and specifications. Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for groundworks and civil engineering projects. Conduct thorough site visits and assessments to understand project scope, materials required, and potential challenges. Utilize estimating software and industry knowledge to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender documents, ensuring they meet client requirements and deadlines. Maintain a database of suppliers, subcontractors, and material prices to support accurate estimating. Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure cost control and profitability. Requirements: Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with specific experience in groundworks and civil engineering projects. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately estimate project costs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Familiarity with estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor rsquo;s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., ICE, CIOB) is advantageous.
