Principal geotechnical engineer

Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer? Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP65,000 per year The role involves providing technical support to both our office and site-based teams, tackling engineering problems across a wide range of market sectors. You will become an integral part of the company, mixing engineering with project management, mentoring and providing input to the company #39;s strategic development. The role reports to the Engineering Lead - an Associate Director with overall responsibility for the engineering teams and all technical output of the company. Responsibilities: middot;Preparing technical reports and reviewing the work of others; middot;Lead project meetings and client interactions as the Project Manager; middot;Mentoring and supporting the engineering teams; middot;Fostering a culture of engineering excellence and adherence to industry and company standards among junior team members; middot;Coordinate and support the delivery of reporting and design packages; middot;Assist with tender submissions and produce detailed geotechnical proposals. Ideal Candidate: middot;MSc / MEng or above in Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject; middot;CGeol or CEng status; Technical experience to include: middot;Planning, execution and supervision of site investigation works. middot;Managing geotechnical projects of various sizes across multi-sectors middot;Geotechnical design of various foundation types of various structures middot;Proficient user of relevant geotechnical design software - Geostru, Plaxis, Flac, PDisp, Wallap, etc. middot;Site engineering and practical support to construction works. middot;Awareness and experience of managing commercial risk on projects; middot;Eager and able to manage their workload and balance and prioritise a range of tasks and priorities; Extensive experience in the area of geotechnical engineering: middot;Geotechnical design report middot;Earthworks specifications and design middot;Slope stability assessment and reporting. middot;Checking and validating design reports middot;EC7 design and validation middot;Basement Impact Assessments middot;Ground Movement Assessments middot;Working platform design. middot;Ability to communicate technical ideas and solutions to a range of expertise and backgrounds; middot;Strong client-facing communication skills; middot;Experience and understanding of the importance of mentoring and training junior staff.
