Technical author

A Basildon based company who design and manufacture production line equipment are keen to recruit an Technical Author / Validation Engineer to work as part of their documentation department. The role will involve supporting Project Managers and Engineering Technicians on a variety of tasks including performing tests on machines to support the verification process and going on to produce all technical documentation required. What #39;s on offer? 37.5 hours per week on flexitime basis 23 days holiday plus discretionary days and bank holidays Life and accident insurance available immediately Pension scheme available after 3 months with company contribution of up to 8% after 2 years #39; service Private healthcare scheme after 2 years. Duties: Carry out testing on machinery within the factory Report tests results and provide feedback Assist in the review and update of equipment design Produce specification and qualification documentation Liaising with all departments during the equipment build process Prepare equipment Operator and Technical Manuals in line with relevant machinery standards and essential health and safety requirements for UKCA/CE marking, functional safety, ATEX certification Liaise with supplies and customers validation departments Long term you will be able to conduct site acceptance tests at customer sites Requirements: Candidates must be a HNC trained engineering apprentice or be an engineering graduate Must have some previous experience gained within an engineering environment Previous test and validation experience would be preferable Experience of Technical Authoring would be a benefit Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills After a period of training there will be opportunities for career development including the opportunity to travel worldwide Candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible to apply for this vacancy.
