This is a pivotal role in assisting the whole clinical team to ensure that theatre lists and patient experience is well organised, prepared and runs to time. In addition to the principal duties which will occupy much of your time, you will be expected to assist with other responsibilities as a part of the clinical team. These might include accurate tracking of controlled drugs, maintaining sufficient medical related stock levels, other audits, decontamination of instruments, and otherwise ensuring CQC standards are maintained. Main Duties: * Provide critical care to your patients #39; post-surgery. * Assist in the development and implementation of high standards of clinical practice in relation to post-operative care. * Plan the individual care of patients and ensure this care is provided according to strict guidelines. * Educate each patient in all aspects of their post-operative and after-care plans. * Act as a support to junior members of staff and offer them guidance when necessary. * Ensure all documentation for traceability is effectively completed * Help to control and minimise the risk of cross infection by following the organisations rsquo; Uniform Policy, and AFPP guidelines 2011, all procedures, policies and guidelines for the maintenance of a clean working environment, including decontamination and sterilisation of equipment. * Admitting and discharging of patients following local anaesthetic.
