Maintenance supervisor

Cullet business is the division of Potters Industries that provides crushed glass for recycling to both our glass microspheres business and other customers. In our Barnsley facilities, where we employ around 20 people, recycling glass is collected, processed and delivered to customers. Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, the role is responsible for performing and overseeing maintenance works in the facility to ensure daily operations and continuous improvement. This would include both preventive and reactive plans. In addition, the position is the first-point of contact with external contractors for maintenance services and new projects (infrastructure, equipment, etc). In a later stage, the role may lead a small team that executes routine activities to maintain and improve capacity utilization and quality standards. Primary Functions and Responsibilities * Provide full maintenance support and an efficient repair service to production (plant machinery) and transport service, minimizing downtime. Some examples are repairs to processing and production lines and weld repairs of skips. * Liaise with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance work. Monitor and control suppliers rsquo; works on site, including trainings and qualifications. * Organise the maintenance workshop, ensuring a right control of inventory for materials and equipment. Take responsibility on spare parts and material purchase. * Ensuring productivity and delivery of defined standards, whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processing operations. * Assist in general continuous improvement activities, such as safety, environment and quality. * Partner with local and regional engineering teams to share and develop leading practices. Qualifications * Professional diploma in relevant field (Mechanics, Maintenance) * Minimum 5 years rsquo; experience working as Mechanical/Welder. * Directly applicable mechanical (hydraulic, pneumatic, oil, grease lubrication systems) and welding experience with a manufacturing organization. * Welding qualification: European standard 1 or vertical weld. MMA Stick welding would be a bonus. * Industrial electrical knowledge is a plus. * Demonstrated ability to manage third parties in maintenance and installation services. * Must have excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities. * Responsive, proactive and able to lead processes
