Engineering Buyer Nottingham GBP32,000 - GBP37,000 per annum, DOE EMBS Engineering is in an exclusive partnership with an award winning precision engineering company based in Nottinghamshire, renowned for its expertise in manufacturing machined and fabricated turnkey components. Over the past two years, our partner has made significant investments in cutting-edge machinery, upgraded internal facilities, and explored innovative technologies such as 3D printing, underscoring their dedication to advancement. In light of this, as part of their continued growth, our client seeks an experienced Engineering Buyer to join their business permanently. What does the role involve? The ideal candidate will procure materials, maintain supplier relationships, and improve operational efficiency. Essential skills include strong communication, proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and experience in raw material procurement. Responsibilities and Tasks: * Source materials cost-effectively, manage supplier relations, liaise with subcontractors and oversee timely delivery * Maintain supplier relationships * Coordinate with management to align procurement strategies with company goals * Execute procurement operations, ensuring quality and cost targets are met * Manage logistics effectively * Maintain documentation, comply with safety standards, and collaborate with subcontractors Experience required: * Minimum of 3 years #39; experience as Buyer within a precision engineering / advanced manufacturing environment for industries such as Aerospace, Motorsport, Nuclear, MOD, Oil Gas etc * Preferably within SME rsquo;s that possess machining capabilities * Experience in purchasing off-the-shelf commodities and identifying new suppliers when required * Proficiency in purchasing raw materials such as bar, sheet, plate, casting, and forgings. * Confident in customer-facing interactions, providing updates on parts status. * Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, particularly Progress Plus * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with subcontractors regarding purchasing activities * Proven ability in supplier management, ensuring suppliers are fit for purpose What do you get? * Permanent position * GBP32,000 - GBP37,000 p.a depending on experience * Days position with flexible start and finish times * 25+8 Holidays * Contributory Pension scheme * Company bonus * Health care * Employee assistance program * Free car parking * Modern working environment * Inhouse Training academy * Regular pay reviews appraisals * Opportunity to develop and progress internally in a growing, forward-thinking business About us EMBS Engineering is a dedicated talent specialist that partners with some of the UK #39;s most prestigious, advanced, precision engineering companies within the Aerospace, Automotive / Motorsport, Nuclear, Oil Gas, Green, Environmental and FMCG industries.
