Finance manager

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a Finance Manager as part of our finance team based in Plymouth. We are looking for the postholder to take the lead on management accounts and to provide oversight across the day-to-day finance team. This is a hands-on role as part of a dynamic and growing team which is likely to evolve over time. The Finance Manager will report directly to the Group CFO. Key duties: middot; Responsibility for completing management accounts and all balance sheet reconciliations. This will require preparation of the management accounts as well as supervision and oversight of others. Key tasks include: o Working with the operational teams to establish accrued and deferred income and work-in-progress o Posting payroll journals o Preparation submission of VAT returns o Credit card postings o Managing customer and supplier retentions middot; Supervision and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions . These functions are largely self-sufficient although there may be limited occasions where direct assistance is required in preparing payment runs, etc. middot; Liaising with year-end accountants/auditors and completing requests middot; Posting of year-end adjustments to Netsuite to ensure statutory accounts reconcile with management accounts middot; Management of the corporation tax and VAT position middot; Management of the intercompany position for middot; Cash flow forecasting and treasury management middot; Providing business analysis and assisting with month-end reporting middot; Providing support as required across the finance function in a growing business Line management: middot; 4 x direct reports (plus 1 x indirect report) comprising Management Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Key attributes: middot; CCAB qualified accountant middot; Self-starter great team player middot; Good communication skills middot; Be able to work on-site middot; Experience of working in NetSuite or similar business package middot; Good experience of Excel middot; Experience of working in a busy accounts department middot; Knowledge/interest in the construction business
