Senior estimator

Our client is a leading construction firm based in Hemel Hempstead. They #39;re seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, ensuring profitability and competitiveness in the market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial projects, particularly in education and leisure sectors, and experience in fit-out, refurbishment, and new build projects. Responsibilities: * Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. * Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating. * Evaluate material, labor, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive estimates. * Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy. * Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys. * Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements. * Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid reviews. * Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives. * Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements affecting construction costs Qualifications: * Proven experience in estimating projects within the education and leisure sectors. * Strong understanding of fit-out, refurbishment, and new build construction methods and techniques. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Knowledge of UK construction regulations and standards In return, our client is offering GBP65k - GBP85k + Package - D.O.E
