Works manager

A Tier 1 Construction and civil engineering contractor are recruiting a Works Manager to join their busy Southwestern Division. The company has an outstanding relationship with the Environment Agency as part of a framework and has been awarded a large project in the Bournemouth area. These long-term projects are varied in their nature, could involve flood prevention and alleviation, marine protection, canal, or river restoration works. This project will invariably involve earthworks, piling, small civils works, temporary works and will have a positive impact on the local ecology and the environment. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects. You will be required to make decisions, motivate the team and drive the project towards a timely and profitable finish. The company would consider applications from those seeking both permanent and long term contract positions. Duties include: Assisting with the management of the site team Managing General Foremen, Foremen and workforce Ordering plant, labour and materials Leading toolbox talks, daily briefings and site inductions Working with the Site Agent and commercial team to raise early warning notices Promote the highest levels of health and safety on site Liaise with stakeholders on public facing projects Ensure your work force is working safely, effectively and efficiently Reading drawings with the site engineer to coordinate gangs and overcome design difficulties Ensure risk assessments and method statements and being adhered to The business will be able to keep you working on the South Coast, offering a variety of projects, security and package that reflects your contribution to the company.
