SEN Home Tutor | Worcestershire | GBP26.62 per hour | Flexible Working Hours SMART Education are looking for a committed and experienced SEN Tutor with a real passion to support vulnerable, at risk and disengaged learners with their core-subjects! We currently have a vacancy for a Home Tutor to support a secondary aged pupil working at a lower level with special educational needs. The pupil has been out of education for some duration, therefore tuition is required to increase engagement in education across core subjects Maths and English. The successful tutor will need to be familiar in working with SEN needs and managing challenging behaviour. You will be working 1:1 with this young person therefore it is vital that you are confident in your ability to differentiate and deliver 1:1 tuition lessons to meet the young person rsquo;s needs. You will be provided with 1-2 hours of planning and preparation time per week. You will be required to: Create a calm and positive learning environment Build a strong rapport with both the young person and their families Planning lesson plans and activities for the tuition sessions to ensure that the curriculum is covered sufficiently Support a young person with complex needs; differentiating lesson/activities Complete a home tuition report after sessions that outlines progress of the student Person Specification: A creative and versatile teaching style Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or extensive tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH/ASD/Speech and Language Delay) Experience and understanding of strategies on how to manage challenging behaviour / self-regulate emotions An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of Safeguarding practices SMART Education recruits into Teaching Jobs in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, and into Home Tutor jobs across the UK.
