Senior Systems Engineer Salary: up to GBP45,000 - GBP60,000 DOE Location: Horsham, West Sussex We #39;re looking for a Systems Engineer to join a vibrant team based in Horsham. Your role will be pivotal in crafting cutting-edge targeting and surveillance equipment for both land and naval defence purposes. With an expanding order book and extensive global clientele, we #39;re on the lookout for skilled individuals to help us fulfil these vital contracts. In this role, you #39;ll navigate a diverse product portfolio, ranging from innovative low-TRL concept demonstrator systems to the repeat orders of our highly successful electro-optical surveillance and tracking systems. Your main responsibility will be to lead Systems Engineering activities within multi-disciplinary project teams. This entails ensuring the alignment of mechanical, electrical, and software design elements to meet the customer #39;s requirements effectively. Your knack for managing system complexity and resolving conflicting requirements will be invaluable. Your key responsibilities will encompass various crucial aspects of systems engineering: Requirements Capture and Management: You #39;ll be tasked with gathering and managing the requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of what the system needs to achieve. Functional and Physical Systems Architecture Design and Definition: This involves designing and defining the architecture of both the functional and physical aspects of the systems, laying the groundwork for their development. System Modelling: Employing modelling techniques to simulate and analyse the behaviour of the system under different conditions, aiding in its optimisation and refinement. Development of Engineering Management Plans: Crafting comprehensive plans for engineering management, including safety management, test integration and acceptance, and technical risk management, to ensure smooth project execution. Gathering of Verification Evidence For Systems Requirements: Collecting evidence to verify that the system requirements are being met, ensuring its functionality and performance align with the customer #39;s needs. Creation of Procurement Specifications: Defining the parameters and procedures for testing the system to ensure its quality and reliability. Conducting Design Reviews: Leading or participating in design reviews to assess the progress and quality of the system #39;s development, identifying any issues or areas for improvement. Environmental Qualification Plans: Developing plans to qualify the system for operation in various environmental conditions, such as EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), temperature, shock, and vibration.These responsibilities underscore the critical role you #39;ll play in ensuring the successful development, testing, and deployment of high-performance targeting and surveillance equipment.
