It hardware support engineer

Job Location: Livingston Job Type: Full Time/ Remote with occasional travel to Livingston office when required. Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP30,000 Per AnnumRole Description Your role as an IT hardware Support Engineer is to support and maintain IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading equipment while ensuring its optimal performance. The individual will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate manner and help you with anything that is needed. Technical Support Requirements: Provide hardware support for all hardware and computer services including, servers, storage, PC / laptop and UPS systems. Provide on-call support (either on-site or remotely using VPN connectivity) outside normal working hours as required on a rotational basis. Provide and schedule preventative maintenance tasks for customer site visits. Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning activities as required. Apply server hardware and compute patches, updates and perform upgrades. Perform IT hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user IT hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex IT hardware problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.Required Technical Skills: Good knowledge and experience with server hardware and compute services. Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required
