Shift supervisor

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions, we are looking for a Shift Supervisor with an understanding of thermoforming and/or other plastics manufacturing processes, to join their team to support continued business growth. Remit: * This position will suit a skilled Thermoforming Setter who has prior experience in a supervisory position or deputizing to lead the shift and is looking to move into a supervisory position * This is a fantastic opportunity to land a secure position with an upwardly mobile, forward-thinking business as they continue to grow * Candidates must have working experience of thermoforming, vacuum forming or other plastics manufacturing disciplines Role: * As Shift Supervisor you will ensure people resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet customer delivery requirements * Ensure team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements * Ensuring that thermoforming machines run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing output * Monitoring machine condition settings and parameters to optimize production efficiency and quality * Troubleshoot machinery issues and liaise with Shift Manager and maintenance staff to organize repairs * Performing tool changes as and when required in accordance with production plan * Demonstrate the ability to lead, organise and prioritise to meet deadlines * Train machine operators and maintain training records * Identification of continuous improvements * To manage and promote company core values * Ensure Health Safety procedures are adhered to Experience Requirements: * Demonstrable experience in thermoforming or vacuum forming (other plastics manufacturing disciplines will be considered) * Good technical knowledge of thermoforming processes and equipment a big advantage * Previous experience in a supervisory position * Good leadership and people skills * Ability to multitask and prioritise in a challenging, fast paced environment * Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices * Problem solving skills * Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles * Experience within FMCG industry a big plus Key Words: ldquo;Production Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Team Leader rdquo;, ldquo;Shift Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Shift Leader rdquo;, ldquo;Setter Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Thermoforming Technician rdquo;, ldquo;Thermoforming Setter rdquo;, ldquo;Thermoforming rdquo;, ldquo;Compression moulding rdquo;, ldquo;Vacuum Forming rdquo;, ldquo;Plastics rdquo;, ldquo;Packaging FOOTER Due to the sheer volume of applications we receive we will only contact successful applications that meet the requirements of our client job brief.
