About the company My client is a large Civil Engineering company with sites ranging across Essex, East Anglia Cambridgeshire that was established in 1964. They are renowned for delivering quality work on time and within budget in the disciplines of highways civil engineering. The group also does large-scale building projects but is largely based on highways-focused projects. They are currently managing 611 live projects. Which consist of smaller highway projects worth GBP500,000 up to GBP1m. Almost all their work is with repeat clients, which gives you excellent job security should you get the role. Over the next 2-5 years they plan to steadily grow their business and continue to acquire smaller-large scale highways projects. About the opportunity My client is actively looking for someone to step into the Contracts Manager role and make it their own, using their experience and independence to run the sites. It will be a site-based role so a successful candidate will be expected to travel to the site regularly to carry out regular maintenance checks. They will be responsible for the overall project management while maintaining standards of health, safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control. The candidate will be working closely with the Commercial Department, Agents, Engineers, Supervisors and other members of the management team, to ensure the whole process on-site runs as smoothly as possible. About the benefits and rewards As a leading civil engineering contractor, my client is offering a very competitive package compared to the industry standard. You will receive a salary of GBP65,000-GBP75,000 depending on your level of experience as well as a car allowance, annual leave and a full package. This role is also offering an element of hybrid working for the Contracts Manager. When not based on-site, any general work days can be spent at home and you will not be required to go to the head office regularly. About the requirements As a Contracts Manager, you will be hands-on and responsible for delivering multiple contracts from GBP50k to GBP2m in value, with a project portfolio valuing GBP10M per annum. You will require a few years of managerial experience, running a team within civil projects. You will be degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management on similar and have proven experience working within the highways sector. You must be around the East Anglia region, as they have sites based in Essex, East Anglia, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire and you will be required to regularly go on site
