HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners. Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite (free!) parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station. Due to HMP Winchester holding remand prisoners and to support the daily regime, we do require staff to work on rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if you rsquo;re looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview This position is full time 37.5 hours a week and you rsquo;ll receive an annual salary up to GBP31,710 per annum FTE - depending on experience. Golden Hello - GBP3,000 (GBP1,000 in 6 months of service, GBP1,000 after 12 months and GBP1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply). What you #39;ll be doing You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service rsquo;s needs. Working on the prison wings, you can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, administering medications, patient counselling, medicines reconciliation etc. You may be required to participate in certain activities concerning the day-to-day operational management of the unit and as such must ensure that you are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. You rsquo;ll be able to demonstrate assessment skills, including the undertaking of risk assessments and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
