Electrical spindle tester

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. Due to increased workload within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Electrical Spindle Tester. 365 Resourcing is the preferred supplier to Mazak. Job Description The role is mainly (but not limited to) checking and testing Mazak spindles to new standards and will involve various assembly and test-related tasks related to spindles such as. middot; Electrical assembly work is required to connect each spindle to the test rig in the correct and safe manner. middot; Electrical checks of stators (new and re-used/repaired) to ensure conformance to standard Mazak check sheets. middot; Setting up spindles for testing and operating NC controls. middot; Precision adjustment related to Mazak work instructions. middot; Carrying out various quality checks during the testing process involving precision equipment such as micrometers, testbars, dial test indicators, clampforce and axial force gauges. Essential Criteria middot; Background in precision Engineering or Electrical assy. middot; Good problem-solving skills. middot; Self-motivated and good communication, attention to detail. middot; Organised, able to plan ahead and good ability to follow written procedures. middot; Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment. Desirable Criteria middot; Apprentice trained. middot; Good understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies. middot; Previous experience of electrical systems / NC controls. middot; Good understanding of testing electrical motors and fault finding. middot; Previous experience with vernier calipers, depth mics, force gauges and micrometers. middot; Previous experience of Mazak spindles.
