Job title: Court of Protection (Health Welfare) Legal Administrator Location: Manchester / Hybrid Salary: £21,000 per annum Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, the option to buy and sell holidays, hybrid working, company pension, sick pay, life assurance, employee assist program and many more…. Simpson Millar is a leading law firm with offices throughout the country. Our public law department deals with a variety of areas, including education, health, social care and human rights. It is ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 and has a leading reputation in all these niche areas. We are seeking a Legal Administrator to support lawyers in our nationwide team based in our Manchester office with all administration tasks including preparing bundles and dealing with legal aid administration. We are looking for a candidate with sound IT skills, particularly PDF and the ability to prepare electronic court bundles. This role is on a hybrid working arrangement with up to 2 day per week in the Manchester office. Key Responsibilities: To assist fee earners in the Court of Protection team with their caseloads to include; Preparing bundles for court hearings. Preparing files for billing. Assisting fee earners in the preparation of legal aid applications, including costs increases and HCCP’s. Working with colleagues to ensure that billing is undertaken in an efficient, effective and accurate way Reviewing and reporting WIP and disbursements General administrative tasks Ideally you will have previous experience in using the CCMS system and legal aid, as well as preparing bundles using PDF software.
