Role: Frontend Software Developer (GUI and Java) Location: Tadworth, Surrey Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP50,000 approx Start date: ASAP Home working: Occassionally work from home 2 days **This role is exclusive to People Source and you MUST apply via this advert** We are looking for a web GUI / frontend developer to work in our Canvas team. This team develops and maintains application and provides technical support and services to our clients where required. The role will be to develop the UI aspects of the Canvas applications, improving the current UI and providing new interfaces for the backlog of new features we have planned. Tasks will cover all areas of the product lifecycle including, solution design, documentation, development, testing, continuous integration, QA, security, deployment, and maintenance fixes. This role will also provide support to the operations team investigating customer issues and resolving problems directly with customers. Principle accountabilities: Support and improve on the UI for Canvas and tools Develop new user interfaces as Canvas grows and as new tools are developed. Work with the Canvas architect to create a coherent UI and UX design philosophy. Knowledge / Experience Required: Java SQL Maven HTML CSS UI design UX GIT Good understanding of UI testing Additional Knowledge / Experience: Vaadin Java EE PostgreSQL Python Javascript Typescript Wider experience with other UI frameworks such as React or AngularJS. Geo location displays e.g Google Maps, OpenStreetMap Containers for development and deployment Jenkins Jira Skills / Abilities Team player with a #39;can do #39; attitude and #39;completer #39; mentality. Able to work on own initiative and with minimum levels of supervision. Take responsibility to respond to customer requests and see through to completion, on time to meet Customer expectations. Possess good communications and interpersonal skills. Have strong and clear, written, and verbal English communications skills. Possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
