This is a permanent role, starting in September or earlier for the right person. The school is looking for an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of success and raising pupil outcomes. Position: Head/Director of English Location: Birmingham Start Date: September Pay: MPS/UPS and TLR As the Head/Director of English, you #39;ll play a pivotal role in shaping the English department and foster a culture of excellence within the school community. Your responsibilities will include: * Providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for the English department * Create and maintain an environment and a code of behaviour that promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning and high standards of achievement * Mentoring and supporting English teachers to enhance their teaching practice * Monitoring student progress and implementing effective intervention strategies * Collaborating with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and language immersion opportunities * Liaising with parents, stakeholders, and external partners to promote the importance of language education Our ideal candidate will possess: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) * Proven leadership experience within a school setting * Expertise in teaching English at Secondary level * Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills * Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues * Commitment to promoting cultural awareness and diversity * Visionary mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation If you are interested in this role, apply online and one of the team will be in touch
