Construction manager

Our client is looking to recruit a Construction Manager for a 12 Month Contract. Construction Manager Hinkley - Onsite 12 Month Contract Inside IR35 1.0 Introduction Our client has been awarded a project at Hinkley that involves delivery of the following scope: Multi-discipline Design Procurement Manufacture Construction Inactive Commissioning The project will provide the facilities for retrieval and packaging of legacy waste, such that it is suitable for subsequent long term storage. The client will hold Principal Designer and Principal Contractor responsibilities, as defined within the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015 Site mobilisation is scheduled to commence early 2025. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2028 2.0 The Role Job Title: Construction Manager Reporting to: The Construction Project Manager Location: Hinkley, with a requirement for travel for meetings The role involves planning and subsequent implementation of the construction scope, as described in Sections 3 and 4 below. 3.0 Construction Planning Duties The successful candidate will act as the client rsquo;s focal point during the construction planning phase. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that arrangements are compliant with the client #39;s Business Management System (BMS) and the relevant Health and Safety legislation. 3.1 Establish the Site Welfare Laydown Offices Traffic management Storage Resource mobilisation Demarcation of the construction areas Radiological protection arrangements Security Access 3.2 CDM Compliance Ensure Principal Contractor duties are fulfilled Ensure hazards are appropriately identified and managed Production of the Construction Phase Plan Communication with Client, the Principal Designer and subcontractors 4.0 Construction Implementation Duties Support the Construction Project Manager in management of the construction site, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control Deputising for the Construction Project Manager as required Ensure compliance with the procedural controls, as detailed in the client rsquo;s Business Management System (BMS) Plan the work on a day-to-day basis, in line with the project programme Ensure the overall construction scope is delivered on time and to budget Monitor progress Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed Report Writing Ensure Safe System of Work documentation is approved and appropriate for the work being carried out Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project Communicate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project Resolve any unexpected problems that may occur during the project. 5.0 Competencies The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: Communication skills Document writing Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relevant to the management of construction site ndash; particularly CDM 2015 Regulation Experience of EPC Project delivery in a highly regulated environment ndash; preferably Nuclear Line management capability Production and review of Safe Systems of Work documentation 6.0 Qualifications Training Safety management eg NEBOSH, IOSH CDM Radiological Protection Company information At First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
